I consider myself to be a relaxed sort of guy, nice, kind and caring, but shy and quiet. I work as a Bank Admin Assistant for NHS Orkney, having previously attended Orkney College where I got a diploma in Business Studies. I also do some volunteering in my spare time. My hobbies include watching TV (comedy is my thing), movies, listening to music, watching sports, photography and exploring new places. I'm more of a quiet night in sort of person rather than a wild night out person, and I don't drink (though I don't mind if you do). Please feel free to send me a message if you'd like to talk :)

I'm looking for someone who is kind, caring and affectionate, who will let me love them and will make an effort to make things work. I would like someone who has at least a passing interest in comedy, since it is my big interest, and I'd love us to share nights in watching Tv comedy or movies. I don't want somebody who smokes, takes drugs or drinks excessively (in moderation is fine as I said). I also don't want someone who already has children.

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I can't cook sadly, its something that I've never been very good at it. Not that I haven't tried, but the most I can cook is something uncomplicated out of the freezer. My favourite foods include steak, chicken, beef, pork, sandwiches (cheese, bacon, ham), fish and chips, and loads of other stuff. I'm open to trying new foods to :)
Shopping	I quite like shopping, which sounds strange for a guy. I even don't mind clothes shopping (so long as its not for 4-5 hours at a time, lol). I also love shopping for new DVD's, I'm a bit of an online shopping addict, lol
DIY	Again, I'm pretty awful with DIY, I don't have any real technical skills so all of this goes over my head. There are certain things I can do, like painting for example, but largely I'd rather get someone in to do diy, lol.
Housework	Based on my own room, I'm not exactly mr neat. But I don't mind doing housework, in fact I'm fairly good at it and (in a strange way) enjoy it. I don't mind doing stuff like hoovering, washing and drying dishes, hanging out clothes or just general tidying.
Dining out	I don't dine out a whole lot, not because I don't like it, but because I'm on low income right now and can't afford to very often. When I do I always enjoy myself, whether its going to a cafe, a fancy restaurant, or somewhere like McDonalds or KFC.
Movies	I don't go to the movies a whole lot, again this is due to my low income, but I also prefer cuddling up on the sofa or in bed and watching TV or a movie anyway. While its not the same experience as the cinema, I find it very satisfying, especially when cuddled up with someone :)
Theatre	I'm not really a theatre sort of person in terms of watching plays or things like that, but I'd be open to doing that in the future as I'm always looking to expand my interests. I am however a big fan of live comedy, and love going to see shows live.
Music	I'm a fan of music from the 80's and 90's over the more modern music. My favourites would include Michael Jackson, Queen, Blur and Pulp, but i have loads of other favourites to. Out of the modern singers and bands, my only real likes are Lady Gaga and Paloma Faith. Again however, I'm open to any new music and your favourite bands (so long as its not rap, I can't stand that, lol)
Gigs	I don't attend live music, its not really my sort of thing and I don't have the money. But again, this is something I'd be open to doing.
Pubs	I absolutely don't drink, and the idea of going to pubs or bars doesn't appeal to me at all, mainly because I lost my grandad to alcoholism. I don't mind if you want to go drinking with friends though.
Clubbing	Clubbing I would have to class in the same field as pubs and bars, that scene simply isn't me, but I don't mind if you want to go with friends.
Newspapers and magazines	I read the Daily Mail, though not very often as I don't really keep up with the news (my outlets for news would be satirical programmes like Have I Got News For You and Mock the Week). As for magazines, I don't read a whole lot of them, but anything to do with sports or comedy I find is a good read.
Books	I've been reading a lot more recently than I used to, and my favourite authors include Douglas Adams, Spike Milligan, Tom Holt, Terry Pratchett and Robert Rankin. Comedy novels are what I like and I'm always open to new authors of humerous works :)
TV	TV is my biggest passion, with comedy being the genre that I follow. I have far too many favourite shows to list, but amonst my favourites are Blackadder, Monty Python, Black Books, Red Dwarf, Mitchell and Webb, QI, Mock the Week, Have I Got News For You, Shooting Stars (and anything else with Vic and Bob), A Bit of Fry and Laurie and tons of others, far, far too many to list.
Watching sport	I'm a pretty big sports fan, I follow football, and my favurite teams are Aberdeen and Manchester United. I also like motorsport, snooker, pool, and loads of other sports. However, if your not a big sports fan, I feel that sport is something I can easily cut down on (I would choose cuddling up in front of a romantic film over watching the World Cup final anyday)
Playing sport	I don't play much sport now, mainly due to a bad back, but I used to play football a fair amount, and did PE as one of my standard grades in school. I'm fairly athletic to, and I'm a very fast runner.
Hobbies	My other hobbies include video games, photography and travelling

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	I'd like to be in a full time job, settled down with the love of my life, and who knows, maybe even be a dad.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	That's a pretty tough question. I guess I'd invite Michael Jackson (to provide the music), Stephen Fry (to provide numerous funny anecdotes) and one of the celebrity chefs (to do the cooking).
My ideal date	My ideal date would be someone who instantly puts me at my ease, who makes an effort to keep out conversations going and break the ice.
What would I never, ever give up?	I'd never, ever give up my love of comedy, its my biggest passion and I could never give up watching comedy. I love to laugh and comedy makes me so happy, and without it I'd have a lot less fun.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	It would probably be comedy considering how much I know about it, maybe giving a speech about a famous comedian or sketch/show.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	It would either be America or Japan. I'd love to visit America because there is just so much to see, in terms of landmarks, shops and places of interest. I'd love to visit Japan because I love a lot of Japanese culture, and would find it so interesting to see it in person.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Cancer Research, because I lost my dad to cancer when I was only 11, and would do anything to discover a cure so that no more children lose their dads to this horrible disease.
My "and finally" section ...	Not in paticular, other than if you choose me, then I promise that I will give you all the love and affection in the world. All I want is to find someone to share my life with and love, and I really hope that it is you :)
