Well, having loafed around here for a while, I finally decided to join properly, so I should really get around to writing a profile.
So, here goes!
I do IT stuff for a living, but don't let that put you off.
I used to be a schoolteacher.
Ah. That's probably just as bad. Perhaps I should make something up... Pilot? International Playboy? Oh, I dunno.
How about the following:

Things that I like:
Playing guitar, mandolin & a bit of singing.
Seeing other people do the same things is also a lot of fun.
'Good' films (Now there's an argument waiting to happen!)
Having said that, the occasional plotless explosion-fest can be a bit of fun.
Reading, a bit of cooking - although that's much more fun when it's for more than one person.
Pubs I can sit down in. (only because if I don't I can't hear what anyone else is saying!)

Sport, but not in an obsessive way. I play golf and used to coach rugby, football I can take or leave. I occasionally go to the gym or swim a bit.
Travel - mainly European - I speak German and French reasonably well and enjoy the opportunity to use them.
Proper Coffee.
Wine.
Weird foreign beers.

Things that I don't like:
Arrogance
Unnecessary 'point' scoring
Dishonesty.
Eastenders (and most other soap operas)
Eggs (sorry, I just don't.)
_Repeatedly_ being asked if I play basketball. :-)
Low doorways.
Instant Coffee.
Tequila. At least not on its own...
Smoking (I don't really hate it, I just don't think I should be forced to share...)
Clubbing doesn't really do much for me, either, to be honest.

What I'm like:
Fairly confident
Good natured.
Probably a bit cynical (but only about some things.)
Sometimes a bit too shy for my own good.
Optimistic.
Friendly.
Loyal.
Unfeasibly tall.

That's probably enough for the mo.
or possibly too much. As they say on the TV, you decide.

So, what (well, actually whom) am I looking for?
Well, basically, someone who...

* is shorter than me (that's nearly everyone!)
* has a sense of humour that can cope with mine (not always easy, or so I'm told)
* doesn't take themselves _too_ seriously.
* doesn't hate the things I enjoy (always helpful, that.)
* is independent, intelligent, outgoing, confident.
* will tell me what they _actually_ think/mean.
* will allow me to apologise when I have an attack of foot-in-mouth (I do try to avoid this nowadays!)
