I have a great sense of humour and a positive attitude. I like travelling to new places, fancy dress parties, dancing, swimming, cycling, socialising, listening to live bands, intelligent conversations, painting, photography, walking, and meeting "genuine" people for friendship. I appear quiet and reserved when people first meet me but I am always up for a laugh. I like to make people laugh which can be construed as extrovert behaviour, but not loud. I am affectionate, tactile, faithful, friendly, non judgemental, & a live and let live person.

I respect anyone who can respect themselves and shows respect to others. I like making friends with people who I can have a laugh with, talk with, and are positive in their attitude to life. I'm not into "cosy nights in with a bottle of wine" - plenty of time for that when I get my pension book. I enjoy the outdoors as in walking along a beach/country stroll. However, not a fitness freak - prefer a nice stroll and conversation to hiking up mountains!

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I am hopeless at cooking. I have never taken an interest in it, but will eat anything that anyone else cares to cook me! I am very easily pleased.
Shopping	Not really into too much shopping. Get what I have to get and that's about it. Mind you, shopping for clothes is nice :-)
DIY	I will have a bash but usually end up bodging things. I will have a go at anything though - you don't know until you try.
Housework	Somewhere in between. Yes, I clean and tidy, but I don't let it rule my life. Hence the saying "Dull people have immaculate houses".
Dining out	Yes I like to eat out. I have quite a bland taste so fish and chips eaten out of newspaper is a favourite of mine and Miss Millies! I like Greek and Chinese food. Hate anything hot and spicy.
Movies	I don't go to the cinema much as I would rather be out doing something a bit more energetic. I go with the kids occasionally. Like thrillers, (not gorey horror), comedy, 'love stories', and weepies. Loved the film Avatar.
Theatre	Theatres have more atmopshere as they are live entertainers. I quite enjoy going to a theatre now and again when it's something different other than the usual pantomine.
Music	I like to rock n roll, I like latin american/salsa dancing. In fact, I just love dancing! Jazz funk is great but I enjoy anything I can dance to. I have recently starting dancing in a group on a voluntary basis to entertain people in nursing homes. I also play the drums.
Gigs	Yes I love seeing live bands and usually go to pubs to see various groups and end up dancing round the tables with enthusiasm. I rarely go to concerts though. I go to themed weekends away instead.
Pubs	I enjoy the pub scene as long as it is not so busy that you can't get served, in which case I would leave and find a less busier one. Can't stand wasting time queing for a drink or getting jostled. Like to sit and be able to hear people talk. I like to people watch.
Clubbing	I still love clubbing! Still trying to seek out the places for older people to dance though... these youngsters get everywhere? :-) I don't think I will ever tire of wanting to dance.
Newspapers and magazines	I try to get around to reading the local Observer, just to see what is happening. Browse the national papers at times but they are full of doom and gloom.
Books	I like to read self help books, (read the monthly Psychologies magazine) or nice romantic stories (like Catherine Cookson). My favourite book is The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.
TV	Don't watch television. Try to watch the news to keep myself updated and sometimes a late night film if I am not tired. Tend to have it on in the background for company whilst I am doing other things.
Watching sport	Don't watch sports. Strictly come Dancing is about the only thing I may watch. Can't see why anyone would want to sit down and watch a load of men chasing a rubber ball around myself....?? :-) They tell me it's the primal hunting instinct ?!
Playing sport	I cycle to work, swim, use a gym occasionally, go for Sunday afternoon walks, and dance a lot.
Hobbies	I read tarot cards. I also do paintings, both watercolours and oils. I play the drums and do carribean dance lessons.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	Living in a hot country by the sea.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Princess Diana, My Mum and My Dad. I'd just like to know they are happy where they are.
My ideal date	A intelligent, motivated, respectful gentleman with a great sense of humour, compassion for others, considerate, kind, communicative with his feelings, and a zest for life!
What would I never, ever give up?	My freedom. Nobody should control another person. I would rather be on my own than with a control freak. I will always be an independent person. Relationships should compliment who you are. Nobody should try to change anyone.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	Cruelty. There is never any need for it. People need to be educated and made to see how unnecessary it is to inflict it on another living creature/person. People only do it because they are too coward to confront their own personal issues. Seeing something else suffer makes them feel better about themselves.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	The Indian Ocean. The water is beautiful, the islands are ideallic. The peace and tranquility looks amazing with all the colourful fish. One day I will go there and see it all for myself.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Third World countries who are struggling to survive. Nobody should be starving when there is weath beyond belief held by some individuals who surround themselves with unnecessary material things.
My "and finally" section ...	Can't think of anything that has not already been covered here? I am a deep thinker I have been told and am good at tuning into people's thoughts.
