I'm hardworking and smart at work..... but love to be casual and have fun out of work. I really enjoy being with friends, walking, talking, sharing food (impromptu supper at home, casual meals out, celebratory dining - you name it, I enjoy it!).

I work in the public sector - you could say it's a lifestyle choice - serving local people (that would be the official stance. Alternatively, it's also brilliant for giving a good worklife balance - being able to work 110% for 40 hours a week, and knowing the weekend is mine (that's essential!).

I separated in 2004 and have two boys who are now nearly independent; one flat shares with a friend, the other lives at home and is completing A levels. I like a challenge - I went to Morrocco on a pretty basic trecking / camping holiday in spring this year; I joined a wine class last year, I learnt to ride a motorbike this summer..... but think what I am really looking for is someone to share my greatest pleasures with - walking and being with friends. 

Although I have lots of friends and have a hectic life, I'm missing someone to share special things with; friendship, companionship, and who knows what more???

I'm looking for someone who enjoys 'ordinary' things but can also be spontaneous; happy with a night in or an evening alone, but welcomes an evening with friends, going out to eat, to a film, to the theatre or to the pub to see a group.

I'm especially looking for someone who likes to go for a hike and return to a relaxing evening together or with friends.

Someone who is comfortable with themselves, but likes a bit of anticipation about doing something different....
