Keefys    (51) from Derbyshire 

I love challenges, I love new things, so I've taken the opportunity to move forward by relocating to Derbyshire! I don't know anybody up here, no friends here yet, no family here, but it should suit my work as a freelance IT contractor as I can get to lots of the big cities or work from home. I live on my own in the outskirts of Matlock, I only came here mid November so still finding my way around the area, lots of exploring to do.

I like the countryside, open spaces, nature, I can walk for hours just enjoying the atmosphere. I've got lots of interests, done lots of different things over the years, my new location will probably rekindle a long abandoned love of rocks and caves. Living in The Dales I'm going to be doing a lot more walking, I can see me becoming a regular on the MSE walks that go on in this part of the world. I also like the water, I can sail, I dive, but being about as far from the sea as you can get that will have to go on the back burner for now. Over recent years I've taken to dance, I'm not much good at it but it's a great night out. Via a bit of Salsa and some ballroom I've ended up a Ceroc/MJ dancer, I try to get out at least once a week and I go on weekenders. Over the coming months I'll be popping up at venues all around the area as I find out the places to dance, please say hello if you spot me. The ballroom has started again as well, I'm back at beginner level but I've just found a brilliant ballroom class in Bakewell that I now go to.

Around the house I'm pretty well house trained, I cook, clean, iron, DIY and all the normal things. I do like cooking, it's basic but I get by, my Sunday Roasts have friends phone up looking for an invite. I don't have any pets as such, apart from my house plants, I've got about sixty of them around the house and wintering in the conservatory. I'm not really a TV person, BBC News 24 and Strictly Come Dancing are amongst the few things I watch, but the glass of wine and dig out a DVD is fine as long as it's shared with somebody. 

Right now I'm looking for new friends, people to share with, somebody to phone up and invite for a meal or out for a wander around. Somebody around my age with a similar outlook and interests would be great but I'm not making any rules, I'm a friendly sort of guy and can get on with most people. I always reply to genuine emails with a friendly response, by all means drop me a PM and I'm more than happy to chat. I'm looking forward to hearing from you, some new friends around my new home would be great.
