I'm 34 years old, and as my friends all seem to settle down and find someone special, I feel a bit left out. I want someone to share my time with, and if I'm lucky, maybe something would develop from there. Probably the same attitude as almost everyone on this site, I imagine!
When I go out, I either like to do something very quiet and peaceful, like exploring nice little towns and villages, especially on the coast.
At the other extreme, I have a bit of a thrill-seeker streak in me, and for a long time I was really into theme parks, but that's starting to appeal less as I get older. Still love a nice big funfair, though. Last year I did something I wanted to do for ages, a bungee jump. Would love to do another! I keep meaning to try snowboarding, but it never seems to happen. I love going to Germany with my friends, where we can combine the best rides in the world, with seriously huge beer halls. I'm finally going to Munich Oktoberfest this year, and I can't wait!
As for film / TV / theatre, I love anything that will make me think, or better yet, laugh, and the sillier, the better. I love radio comedy, especially I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, so if you ever want a game of Mornington Crescent or Cheddar Gorge, I'm your man!
The best comedy gig I ever saw was probably Tim Vine, or perhaps Stewart Lee or Mark Steel. My favourite movies are probably Airplane and Lost In Translation; my favourite TV shows include things like Yes Minister, Peep Show, Green Wing,
Musically, I mostly go for electronic stuff, like Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, and most dance music. I also love classical and soft jazz, especially Chet Baker. I also love people like Sparks and The Divine Comedy for the quirky writing. Others that I like include The Beatles (obviously!), Mike Oldfield. The best gigs I've ever seen were were either Roger Waters (from Pink Floyd), The Divine Comedy, or Jean Michel Jarre at the Eiffel Tower. I'm still desperate to see Kraftwerk, I hope it's not too late do that!
In sport, I used to be quite good at 10 pin bowling, and played in a few big competitions. I don't think I'm really competitive enough to have gone any further. I'm not a big fan of sport as a spectator. The main thing I watch is Formula 1, although that has required a bit of patience the last few years!
I seem to be the only bloke in the world who couldn't care less about football or cars. Who cares?!
Wow, I've written far more than I ever thought I would! I'll spare you the rest for now.
Someone who doesn't take life too seriously, and who can see the funny side of things. Someone who agrees that a day without laughter is a day wasted.
I've been compared repeatedly to Tim from The Office, so that should give you an idea of what I'm looking for.
