About me

I thought that I'd managed to describe myself quite well, but I've just met another female member from here who says that I'm nothing like my profile! No, I'm not lying in the paragraphs below, it seems that they don't encapsulate the real me and I haven't done myself justice. What didn't I say that I should have? Perhaps that I have a wicked sense of humour, able to see the funny side of the life, despite the knocks I've had. That I'm a big softie at heart, behind a tough exterior. That I'm generous, kind and loyal, a good friend in times of need. That I'm bright without being a boffin, a good person to have on the pub quiz team. That I love a good night out. That I'm fun to be with.

I'm not a typical woman, if such a thing exists? I don't like shopping, I don't own too many pairs of shoes, I don't watch any soaps but I do enjoy watching most sports (sorry, football not included unless it's England in the World Cup or I'm at a match after a few pints!) if I am upset and you ask what's wrong, I won't say "Nothing", I like driving, including on motorways and in the dark and I can probably read a map better than you!

I love travelling and have done a number of lengthy backpacking trips to places such as Nepal, SE Asia, New Zealand and Canada as well as plenty of other 'normal' holidays. I'm a scuba diver, I have skydived and I love 'white knuckle' experiences (which doesn't include other people's bad driving!) although I do like to learn about other cultures and take time to see more than the viewfinder of my camera.

Waves crashing against the shore, the sun rising over snow clad mountains, walking through leaves on a crisp autumn day, seeing wildlife in it's natural habitat and looking at the stars in remote places are all things that make me feel good to be alive.

I like good food, drink and song, whether separately or all together. I love to talk about everything and nothing, but know when silence is required. Reading is one of my favourite pastimes and I have a wide taste in books. I enjoy the cinema, too.

I like hugs and holding hands, fun fights and giggles, lie-ins and early nights.

About you

I'm not looking for superman, or someone who's perfect, neither exist in real life. Just want an honest, decent man with a passion for life, someone to share the good times and to support during the bad ones; someone who wants a partnership.

That isn't too much to ask, is it?
It would appear that it's not! It's early days but I think I've found someone to fit the bill! :o)
