I'm looking for someone who has their own mind, is physically fit, and has a progressive attitude to life and is not too materialistic. You will be feminine in behavior, intelligent and well-read, looking for a long-term relationship and be happy in yourself as you are now, but still looking to fine-tune yourself further.

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	Yes. Stir-fry, pasta, but mainly fuel foods - I can push the boat out if I want to.
Shopping	Not bothered really - good if you want something specific, otherwise there's no point. Unless you want to endlessly tramp around looking at the same things over and over and over until you feel like leaping off the nearest tall building to end the torment ;-P Having said that, window shopping is good if you want to check out a new style or just be seen...
DIY	middle of the road here, good at decorating, assembly etc, but very neat carpentry, complicated plumbing or wiring best left to the professionals I reckon.
Housework	I want to live on a boat in the future so I've acquired the habit of being very tidy in preparation! I clean regularly but not obsessively.
Dining out	Yes. Chinese, italian are my favourites, mexican good too. Openminded here.
Movies	Gangster, thrillers, sci-fi, arthouse, world cinema, GOOD comedies. No torture porn or chick-flicks(horror!), while pretty woman is an excellent movie, it's the exception to the rule.
Theatre	Don't get to the theatre at all but I've always liked Shakespeare's tragedies as films so don't see why not. Would like to.
Music	All genres as long as it's good. On my shelves are Classical (Bach), compilations, U2, Pink Floyd, Cypress Hill, The Doors, Coldplay so if I like it then I like it.
Gigs	Not really my thing - openminded though. Would go to a classical concert though, esp if some of my favourites were due to be performed.
Pubs	Yes, I like good, decent pubs.
Clubbing	Not really my thing - when I was younger I did this a fair bit so now I'm not bothered.
Newspapers and magazines	The Times, on saturdays.
Books	I love books and read all the time.
TV	Only watch two or three shows a week now, so I get the very best
Watching sport	Snooker, cricket, marathons, motorbikes and rallying are all good. Football comes from the bowels of hell!
Playing sport	Walking, Tai-chi, boxing, dancing. I do some stretching and basic workouts at home sometimes.
Hobbies	painting, drawing, reading, gardening, camping, socialising, art galleries, films, studying etc.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	Running my own gardening business with a sideline in paintings, and living on a energy independent narrowboat, happily married.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Albert Einstein, Marilyn Monroe, Ellen McArthur.
My ideal date	A walk in the country to a good pub or cafe. My absolute ideal date would be a lot more than this but at this point isn't needed!
What would I never, ever give up?	My awareness of impermanence, because without it people suffer withdrawal constantly.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	Saving our species from itself, and our biosphere from our species.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	I would visit my own home one week in the future, check the lotto numbers on teletext, then travel back to my own time and buy a ticket. Instant Money!
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Child nutritional, welfare, medical and educational sponsorship in the third world with a non-religious emphasis. At £14 per month per child, you could uplift nearly 600 children to be well prepared young adults.
