I am widowed nearly 5 years and have spent the last few years playing at being a full time "granny" but the novelty is wearing off.( I'm far too young, for a start!!!) I need a social life and would love to find some friends who share my interests. My children are grown up and I need to escape from parenthood for a while and just be "human" again.

Don't care about looks. Not that superficial. Looking for companionship and friends to share hobbies/outings/leisure activities etc. Sense of humour is vital!!! Get in touch and free me from domesticity PLEASE.

Cooking	Enjoy cooking but don't like spending hours in the kitchen.

Dining out	my fav would have to be mac and cheese
Movies	love going to movies but rarely get the chance nowadays. Love a good horror, sci fi or thriller.
Theatre	More used to being onstage than watching. Keen am - dram fan
Music	have quite an eclectic taste in music. Some of my favourites are Vangelis, Andrea Buchelli, Tim McGraw.
Gigs	Not into gigs. Last one I went to was Rod Stewart in 1977!!!
Pubs	Don't mind going to pubs though I don't drink.
Clubbing	Haven't been clubbing since the 80s
Newspapers and magazines	Usually read Sunday Times when I get the peace and quietto read a WHOLE newspaper. Mag's are usually Writer's Forum and Writing Mag.
Books	I'm a real bookworm and will read just about anything (not too keen on girly romances/chick-lit)
TV	Like watching horror, sci fi, mysteries and detective prog's. A few of my fave's are Star Trek (original), NCIS, Millennium and Gilmore Girls.
Watching sport	Don't really like sport.
Playing sport	Not sporty.
Hobbies	Like to dabble in fiction writing and am dram.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	In ten years time I would like to have discovered who the real me is.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Have to think about that one
My ideal date	It's been so long, I can't remember. Will have to think about that one!!!
What would I never, ever give up?	Would never give up my family. To me family is the most important thing in the world. ( Even though I have contemplated murder on many an occassion!!!)
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	I think it would have to be about the way society just doesn't care enough about anything anymore.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	So many places-so little time
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Would give it to a charity that helped educate deprived children
