About me

I don't find it easy to describe myself... well travelled but shy, very intelligent but sometimes naive, practical with some very impractical ideas (I want to be an astronaut); Good if somewhat individualistic sense of humour; Likes cooking, will even do the washing up.

Now retired and making things in my shed in Norfolk. Would like to travel again, with the right companion, as there are some places I missed on the first few laps.

I don't like noisy people, other peoples' loud music, soap operas, chewing gum, football,litter or big cities but I do like dogs, cats, horses, walking my dog, steam engines and flying. I always like people who are enthusiasts, even if I don't understand the object of their enthusiasm.

And please don't ask me to assemble flat pack furniture - I can do it, but it offends me!

Ambitions? I've always felt the urge to sail around the world but not alone (who would you talk to?). Space travel would be fun but its probably too expensive.
I like remote places, particularly the ones with history attached. Do you fancy walking the Inca trail to Macchu Pichu? Did you know that on a dark clear warm night in mid pacific you can read a book by starlight?

I like crosswords, reading books (prefer Tolkien and technical subjects. Favourite films - "Sound of Music", "Casablanca"," Shawshank Redemption", and all three "Lord of the Rings" and anything with a memorable soundtrack. Actually I've never managed to stay awake throughout a Lord of the Rings film, so when watching them I often wake up to a bit I've not seen before which is interesting... maybe the DVDs change every time you watch them?

About you

You should be somebody interesting - enthusiasm is contagious. A country girl at heart - should like animals, maybe into horses, riding or driving; dog person more than cat person, but happy with either.

Should be equally comfortable in wellies or in a posh frock. Ideally you should look like Felicity Kendal and have Carol Vorderman's brain, or am I dreaming? (again).

If you are an avid soap watcher and don't know what an indefinite integral is, we won't have much in common, unless you can weld.
