I have been married 4 times - sounds awful and yet there are those many amongst us who have been involved with at least that many partners but who have perhaps chosen not to marry some or all of them

I make no excuses for trying to settle with someone I cared for albeit not foreseeing major problems, which came along later, which resulted in our downfall

I still strongly believe in the union of two people that want above everything else, to be committed to each other. Having said that however I think that my trust in others is possibly at an all time low and believe at my stage of life that getting married is not for me. Hopefully instead more a case of finding a committed long-term partner, where we can be happy and genuinely care for each other

My current situation is that I have now been separated for nearly 4 years, but about to embark on the awful divorce route, which could take some 4 months to conclude. I still feel very sad about what has happened tinged with some anger at being taken for a ride however I do believe that have at last I have really come to terms with the situation and that I am now positively moving on

I have 3 wonderful sons from my previous marriage aged 19, 23 and 25. While the eldest and youngest have their own homes, the middle son decided to live with his mother

I have a super relationship with my sons and love them dearly.

I have now been retired since I was 57 having previously been self-employed within the computer industry. Until recently, lots of my time was taken up with a very long distance relationship, which regularly took me out of the UK Unfortunately and very sadly, this now seems to have ended - perhaps understandably in view of the distance and the long periods apart that go with such a relationship.

I would say that I am a youngish 64 year old - the bones creak a little in the morning but fine after a cuppa and a shower. I am about 5 foot 9 inches tall or thereabouts, weigh about 14 stone, but have to work at keeping the waistline to 36 inches. Being a wine rather than a beer drinker perhaps helps to keep it under control

I believe I am reasonably healthy, have the odd senior moment with memory lapses. Also thinning out a little on top requiring the sunscreen to stop the "dome" from cooking. I no longer smoke having given up on 19th August 2005)

I consider myself to be reasonably well groomed, articulate, and intelligent with a very enquiring mind.

I am honest, friendly, very affectionate, truly tactile, good-natured, flexible, dependable and caring. Love kids and animals of all types.

Being a fairly practical bloke I can turn my hand quite successfully to most projects around the house and don't normally need to call in plumbers, electricians or other tradesman. I enjoy making things, gardening and getting out. In particular I visit my holiday home on the south coast as frequently as possible and would like to continue having some holiday's abroad particularly during those cold dismal winter months when the opportunity presents itself

In searching for a partner, I recognise that it will probably be the person one least expects. In the meantime what is important and a prority is that one can make good friends along thet route, as there is always a chance that "the right person" might emerge.


 

An attractive and well-groomed lady, that takes a pride in her appearance.
Somebody that is genuinely warm, affectionate, loyal and caring.
A principled lady that is refined, but down to earth, honest, intelligent, friendly, and cheerful.
Additionally open-minded, kind and even tempered with a placid nature.
In terms of size, I have no concern with a lady being taller than me, but I do find it difficult to be attracted to a VERY overweight lady. (I am sorry as I don’t wish do not wish to offend), With regard to age, I don’t mind as long as both parties are happy with the gap and its implications. I do feel however that should the lady be retired or semi retired, it would allow us to spend more quality time together. In terms of location it would be great to find someone that is located reasonably close
