About me

I'm a laid-back, cheerful man, with a dry sense of humour. I like to keep myself reasonably fit and healthy (no, not body-building!), but a bit of self-indulgence now and then is good, too!

I'm also a gentle man, committed to family life. I'm a part-time single dad - my son is twelve and the apple of my eye. I'm not looking for a surrogate mum for him (he has a real one), but you would need to be comfortable around him when the time comes to meet him.

I often think like the software engineer that I am (square peg in a square hole?) but I care about the people in my life and I like nothing more than to make them happy. I enjoy comedy, laughter with friends, music (particularly live) and finding out about how the world works. I believe you should love like you've never been hurt. How else will you ever get the most out of your relationship? I'm just looking for that special someone, the two of us accepting each other, broadening each other's horizons and making each other happy.

I'm not afraid of commitment - ultimately I'm looking for someone to live with (in the fullness of time, of course!). However, I'm committed to staying in Leicestershire for the next 8 to 10 years because of my son, so I suppose I'm looking for someone who would be happy to live here, too.

I'm looking for a life partner, someone who will be my best friend as well as my lover. We will both have strengths and weaknesses, but overall we will be equals.
