Galaxy1709 (57) from North London

This is always the hardest part! I'm a warm, friendly and gentle woman who is interested in people. I work part time as a company director in a small commercial property company. I also do voluntary work at a centre for people who have MS and other Neurological illnesses.

I've always lived in London, more in the Centre, High Barnet is the furthest North I've gone.

Sometimes don't have the best of health but try and overcome it. I appreciate everything and everyone in my life and its just great to be alive! I especially value my friends.

It would be great if I could meet a man with whom I could have a serious long term relationship. Or meet a man with whom I could be friends with.

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I like good quality food, so try and buy fresh food from the local market. Enjoy cooking with lots of herbs, mostly simple dishes salmon and chicken with loads of different veges.
Shopping	Oh this depends on my mood. I don't need to spend loads of money to feel good. Like shopping for presents for other people.
DIY	hmmm DIY disaster put hook on back of bedroom door, all you had to do was peel away paper as it had adhesive at back of hook, felt pleased I had done this, only the next day it dropped off. Can decorate thou.
Housework	I love a clean and tidy house, yes I think I'm houseproud but realise that we are all different. I don't think I could have a relationship with someone who was a complete slob.
Dining out	I enjoy eating out and also enjoy cooking for friends eating in can be more relaxing. I love all sorts of pasta, and middle eastern food. Really anything that's good quality.
Movies	Enjoy going to the cinema. My favourite film was Dances with Wolves with Kevin Costner.
Theatre	Love the theatre. if only it was a less expensive I'd be there every week.
Music	Into music big time and having singing lessons. Oh so many artists too many to mention as it spans so many decades!
Gigs	Love going to local gigs. There is so much good talent out there, prefer local pubs.
Pubs	Not into drinking, but like pubs which have some atmosphere. Great to meet friends and relax in.
Clubbing	Haven't been to a club for ages, but love dancing.
Newspapers and magazines	I read a publication called The Week, giving excerpts of different newspapers. I like the Independent's I, the Financial times, sometimes the Sunday Times.
Books	Too many to list. Have a few on the go at a time.
TV	Watch the News am a Corrie fan, documentaries.
Watching sport	Can't see what all the fuss is about. But will watch with someone who is keen if their enthusiasm rubs off on me.
Playing sport	No I don't participate in sports
Hobbies	Yoga, singing, playing my djembe, playing with my cat.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	Sitting in the warmth somewhere with my lovely partner.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Shakespeare, he could explain to me in depth more about his works. Rod Stewart well I have been a fan for so long I would like to meet him.One of the Greek philosophers....oh what a funny combination!
My ideal date	Difficult to say...sometimes you just know it's the right person because you feel comfortable with them whether you are talking with them or not. Everything just flows.
What would I never, ever give up?	Campaigning - if I feel strongly about something, I try and do something about it however small. I wouldn't give it up because I feel it's worthwhile.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	The way our society treats ill and old people. It's all wrong we hide them away and don't give them the love and respect they deserve.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	Would like to re-visit Australia so much to see, utterly beautiful, changing landscapes.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Something to do with health so that scientists could discover a way to prevent serious illnesses. (Please could I have more than a million - it won't go far enough)
