Flask54 (57) from the Borders

Am just under 5ft tall...overweight, but as happy as I can be, with it.....Ive stopped worrying about trying to lose it!
My father was a butcher and mam never worked till we were all up and away.
I have four brothers who are all in and around the same town as me..
I took Polio when I was 11wks old...so really I have never known any different.....it has certainly never stopped me living my life.
Obviously I am slowing down a wee bit faster than my peers, but I am definitely not grinding to a shuddering halt!!

What am I looking for??.....Well I would love to get to know some decent guys as friends/lovers/whatever....
I would love someone who's kind and thoughtful and at peace with himself, to share my life with and me to share his

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I love to cook....I feel a deal of satisfaction when I have fed some hungry folk with home made food! I don't have a set style.....just like to experiment a wee bit.
Shopping	Food shopping is a necessity.......other shopping can be fun, but only for the first couple of hours!! After that all the shops seem to merge into one!
DIY	Me and DIY don't really go together, however am good at directing other people, when I know what needs to be done!
Housework	I love my home......like it to be organised.....clean and tidy......but I also love the lived-in look. As long as I know its clean, am happy!
Dining out	I love Mexican food...Italian food....Chinese/Cantones food...and of course good old British food....however I must say that I really do prefer to eat at home!
Movies	Going to the pictures has never appealed to me, but I do enjoy films....such as; Its a wonderful life...Shawshank Redemption...ET...Benjamin Button....to name but a few
Theatre	When I lived in the city, I used to love having access to and going to the theatre.......to see musical productions.....ballets.
Music	My musical tastes vary from Dolly Parton to Pavarotti, Meatloaf to Take That and many more!
Gigs	Yes......I used love going to gigs....who have I seen, well theres Neil Sedaka, Celine Dion, The Corrs, Tina Turner, Meatloaf, Erasure and sadly Gary Glitter too, to name but a few!
Pubs	No the pub scene doesn't appeal to me anymore......
Clubbing	And the same can be said for clubbing......have lost their appeal
Newspapers and magazines	I was brought up on the Daily Express.....and I still buy/read it today.....some good reading and puzzles!
Books	My favourite type of book is a biography.....at the moment am reading Barack Obamas book, Dreams from my Father. Martina Cole is a favourite author of mine too.
TV	Oh I have to own up to being an avid soap lover, I do also love animal programmes.....and anything about travel
Watching sport	I enjoy watching most sports, I find golf so relaxing to watch.
Playing sport	I don't participate in any sport!
Hobbies	I love to play Scrabble, I do it a lot online. And I enjoy doing crafty things!

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	Am happy where I am now......but it would be even more enjoyable to be sharing it with that special someone!
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Pope John Paul II.....Barack Obama....and my son
My ideal date	To be flown by helicopter to Paris for lunch and then home again........for as long as I can remember its been a secret wish of mine
What would I never, ever give up?	Thats a hard one to answer, but I guess my answer would encompass my son somehow
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	It would be about all the silly nonsense that comes under the umbrella of Political Correctness!!
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	The far east is where I would head for, so much of life, as we know, has come from there and I would just love to explore their culture in great depth.
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	If I had £1million to give to charity, I would split the money and donate it to more than one! Homeless children would be one, Pancreatic Cancer research is another....young ex-servicemen who fall on hard times!
