ExpatEAJ (29) from Grampian
Just checking things out, will fill much of this in as time goes on.
Finding a partner in crime ;)
About me
I'm 29 years old and come from Grampian in the United Kingdom. I'm single with no kids. I'm 6' 1" tall and of average build. I don't smoke and I drink occasionally. I'm here for dating, friendship, hobbies and interests and business contacts.
My detailed facts
My hobbies and interests
Cooking
Love cooking and love all sorts of food. But this is mostly because I really enjoy wine and find it fun to pair up things. I'm partial to all kinds of fish and enjoy lots of Mediterranean, Indian and Mexican cuisines.
Shopping
I enjoy the concept of fashion and the way clothing, and moreso consumerism, speak loads about our culture.
DIY
Built homes for Amnesty International a few years back, worked on an architectural timepiece last summer and assisted a friend build a cabin - pipes, electric and all. Though I'd need help and lots more tools, I'm quite crafty and could perhaps build a small home (read: shack).
Housework
Well, it goes like this: I'm an academic. We're mostly prone to OCD. This often filters into my daily monotonous domestic routine and as a result I come off quite tidy and domesticated. This is all by accident of course.

Dining out
I enjoy eating out, but would rather go to a fresh produce and meat market and cook a meal myself. I enjoy going to nice restaurants (haute cuisine as it were) for certain occasions, and if so usually lean toward surf and turf. I simply enjoy the satisfaction of cooking my own great meal, versus someone else serving it to me. Special occasions, like I said, are altogether different.
Movies
Love cinema to the point of obsession. This does not come out in an overt way, though. I'm not the dude with the ravioli stained Dawn of the Dead t-shirt playing his gameboy, waiting for the bus while slurping down a big gulp. Rather, my passion for film is subtle and my knowledge of it (from silent through new wave through modern) may, occasionally, impress you. Though I make no guarantees.
Theatre
"Culture-vulture?" haha. Ok. I enjoy the theater. I grew up in NYC, lived in Chicago for many years. Right. Got the whole culture-cosmopolitan thing down. I can't see La Traviata in Aberdeen? That's fine with me for now.
Music
Mostly acoustic, blues, funk and soul.
Gigs
Live shows are fantastic if they are not a crowded drunken mess. Which, unfortunately, my favorite bands - Gwar, Cannibal Corpse, Slayer - all have the tendency to attract this crowd. For shame. Honestly, I love small indie shows and lounge type musicians. Been listening to Beach House, The xx, and The National very much lately.
Pubs
Love the pub scene in moderation. It's more a place I'll frequent for social camaraderie rather than an everyday necessity.
Clubbing
I enjoy dancing. If I can find a club that isn't just outrageous (i.e. simply a scene working too hard to take itself seriously), I'm down. It's usually synth-pop, disco, or funk on the turntable.
Newspapers and magazines
Stopped reading newspapers once I lost faith in the once noble profession of journalism. However, I am a magazine whore and subscribe to many.
Books
I paid well over a thousand US dollars to ship my books to Scotland from New York. 8 boxes, $200 a piece. This information, though arbitrary and private, highlights the prominence books play in my life.
TV
Isn't the whole programmable TV thing a relic of our past? I mean, when all we have to do is go online and download any show/movie we like (and even stream it to our televisions), the old boob tube looks like its about to disappear. Watch, now I'll be arrested for admitting I download movies. Thanks Midsummer's Eve! Very sly..

Watching sport
Hockey for me please
Playing sport
One-time personal trainer, rugby player, MMA wanna-be, gym rat. Now I eat Doritos and play old school Nintendo. Marble Madness, baby.

Hobbies
See above.
