enigmatic1 (54) from Surrey

Tall, slim, educated, well-adjusted gentleman and devoted father of two sons (20 and 18 respectively). I am a caring individual, sensitive to the feelings and needs of others....and yet, have been told that my sense of humour is quite irreverent...yet I cannot for the life of me, find the heart to apologise for it!. I am optimistic and quite adventurous - but not to the extent of juvenile recklessness nor delusion. I have several interests of which coastal walks, writing, cooking, and candlelit meals are but a few....oh, and did I mention chocolate?. I also enjoy diy.

My music tastes are very wide, but I particularly enjoy Enya's 'Caribbean Blue', Pachelbel's 'Canon in D Major, Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion.....plus many others. Please don't get the wrong impression, as I also enjoy 'pop' music. I suppose when you reach a certain age, you've got to be open-minded about most things otherwise you're considered cynical!, although admittedly, I find it increasingly difficult to comprehend why 'man' has this peculiar capacity for harming fellow humans, when there is so much inescapable misery and suffering in the world already.

I don't claim to have the ability to turn heads......but, I don't turn stomachs either...fortunately, the ugly tree was in full leafy splendour, which prevented me from hitting every branch on the way down! . Call me old-fashioned, but I firmly believe that any friendship/relationship that is founded on deceit or mistrust, will inevitably end that way too. There is no such thing as an effortless relationship......those misguided individuals who believe to the contrary are surprised when it all goes wrong through complacency or neglect.

So....I am looking for that 'special ONE' rather than the 'special ONCE', so if you're not like-minded, please pass me by. Ladies, I can also multi-task...yes, my parents will be so proud that my extended education wasn't completely wasted!!

Did I mention that I have an adopted (rescued) donkey....and similarly, have a compassionate capacity for dogs too (particularly mischievous westies and Dandie Dinmont terriers!)...though I don't have, but would love a dog myself. I must add however, that although my roots are fairly entrenched in Wales, my liking of animals (woolly or otherwise) extends to being purely platonic!!

Anyway, I'm rambling now, but at least that takes care of the formalities....But please...REFRAIN from using 'text-speak' in messages, because if you can't be bothered to write in English, then I won't be bothered to read them....

Top Tip: For those of you who are in danger of jeopardising any future friendship/relationship because of 'baggage', may I suggest you take a brisk stroll through Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5.....where your 'baggage' will be lost forever!!
