And now about me.

You should get to know me because I am good company and I will make you laugh, possibly even deliberately. One person recently described me as cheerfully flamboyant; others have said vivacious; others have said I'm a bit shy; and all are probably true to some degree. I guess we'll know when we meet which aspects of each other we'll bring out.

I have a job I enjoy (usually) a lovingly renovated flat, and many good friends. I have a bicycle that gets neglected in cold weather but is relished in the summer, and I have a vintage sports car that I am far too fond of. I've recently rediscovered what my gym membership is for (not just to buy mineral water and use the jacuzzi, apparently) and in about 3 months time hope to shift that description from 'average' to 'athletic' (Who wants to describe themselves as average? I wanted to put down 'kind of curvy but in a marily monroe way not an obese way, ok?' but that wasn't there as a category. OK, I'm rambling).

I read a lot and usually have two or three books on the go. I'm a perpetual student and have postgraduate degrees in marketing and psychology (but yes, I do also work full time!). I like cinema, theatre, good dining and good chats. I enjoy comedy (both live and the tv variety), love art and am an amateur painter (some of my better efforts adorn friend's walls; maybe they're being kind though), and going to galleries. In a more general way I like to find beauty in the obscure. I've travelled widely; my idea of a good holiday wouldn't involve a resort; it'd involve meeting someone new in some far flung place and struggling our way through the language enough to want to stay in touch afterwards.

Some stuff I don't like; terrible spelling, existentialism (such a depressing philosophy, even if I suspect it might be right about a few key points), chain smoking, and...oh...I absolutely hate intolerance. Can't abide it. Can't toler...ahem.

About you

I'm looking to make friends or a potential relationship. Someone confident enough that they can make decent conversation, but not necessarily an extrovert; I've a soft spot for shy boys.
