I am an Asian woman, 5' 3'' (4 if I stretch my imagination!), very slightly overweight which I am now working on. I am single, with no children and my own house.

I work in education and have a wide variety of interests including reading, arty/crafty things, eating out, theatre, history and lots of other things. I used to be mad about motorbikes(as a passenger) but have not been on one since I came off. I love live music and festivals when I can get to them and love listening to music at home as well and with my background I listen to everything from sufi, to classical, to blues and pop.

I have just joined so still finding my way around.

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	I enjoy cooking for other people and have a few dishes that I can make well. I enjoy English, Chinese and Indian food.
Shopping	I used to love shopping for clothes but I have cut down on that quite a lot now. It was never a problem but still I feel that I don't need that many clothes!
DIY	I am reasonably handy around the house and have done things which surprised me but could do a lot more.
Housework	It is something that I dont do to obesessive levels. The house is clean rather than a showhouse (very far from it)
Dining out	A chinese restaurant or an English country pub meal.
Movies	I tend to watch more movies at home these days and I like thrillers and supernatural. Not blood and guts
Theatre	Try to go see a shakespeare production whenever I can, and I am lucky that I can get to Stratford fairly frequently.
Music	I love all kinds of music depending on mood and have been known to listen to classical, Asian mystical stuff and pop on the same day. I adore JJCale.
Gigs	I was a proper live music groupie and used to go and see lots of local bands frequently. I have been to see Eric Clapton, Dob Dylan, Van Morrison whenever I have been able to. Love dance especially Indian and flamenco.
Pubs	I go to pubs and clubs when there is a special occasion but otherwise tend not to go just for a drink.
Clubbing	was never a great clubber but have been occasionally and enjoyed it then but have not been in a long time.
Newspapers and magazines	Life would not have been complete at one time without reading the papers especially The Times and the Guardian but time is short now and a busy life means that I get most of the news from the internet but will still read the papers if I have a chance.
Books	Definitely not a print dodger! I can read about 3 novels in a week and I tend to read a variety from classics to thrillers. I try to read books that challenge me and then have a rest and read something light.
TV	I do love the box and watch documentaries, the news, and the odd film.
Watching sport	I watch sport when there is a big event on.
Playing sport	Don't do sports but I would like to and sometimes think that perhaps it is not too late to learn the rules of a game! It would be nice to use that to keep fit as well.
Hobbies	I love reading and spend twice as long reading about the background that books are set in! I like art and craft and making things out of fabric. I make jewellery for myself and my friends. I used to love bikes and still do but too scared to get on one after a crash.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	I would like to be doing something that I really enjoy like travelling. I am lucky that I have family in some very interesting places but have never visited them. I have actually been to the places that they are in but have not imposed. I am fequently told that I MUST impose and so I think that I would like to go and see some of them and their countries. I would like not to be working in 10 years time or at least not at this current job. I have some ideas that I would like to explore about other ways of working!
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	I would invite, Shakespeare, Jane Austen and someone who would also like to meet them! Perhaps someone from this site?
My ideal date	somewhere where we can sit and talk and relax. Perhaps in the country at a nice pub, outside! (even if it is snowing or perhaps especially if it is!)
What would I never, ever give up?	My family. I have a very small family here in the UK and I have lovely nephews and one neice who are the light of my life. I would never give them up for anything but I am sure that I will never have to but it's the question so here is the answer!
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	About the state of education in Britain! Do not get me started!
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	I frequently fantasise about visiting different periods in history believe it or not and I that I would have a time travelling ship that could take me to lots of diffrent times and places. I want to see everything. I even want to go back and see the dinosaurs but I wonder if I would disappear en route as there were no people in the time of the dinosaurs. In spite of what Hollywood would have you believe!
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Children's charities without a doubt. Children should not have to suffer the appalling conditions that many of them have to.
My "and finally" section ...	I am truthful and faithful and need nothing more than to love someone with a passion and have someone feel even half that towards me. To share a similar sense of humour, to have some of the same interests and to be able to allow the other person to do things that they enjoy even if you don't and to let them be themselves. To have respect for each other.
