DJDavid Male (23) from Denbighshire

Hi there! Thank you for viewing my page. By all means, take a seat, and I’ll put the kettle on.

Okay ... about me ... I'm a Christian and I go to church every Sunday (Sussex Street Baptist a.k.a Rhyl Christian Centre). My faith is very important to me, and ideally I would like to find someone who shares that.

I like to think I'm down to earth and don't take myself too seriously. As a rule, I never pre-judge, I am honest, understanding, unpretentious, thoughtful, compassionate, calm, generous, and wince a lot with embarrassment when I have to write things like this. One of the things which I guess is indicative of who/what I am is humour, and my love of it; although, obviously, I can be serious when the occasion demands. For what it's worth, people say I'm mature and sensible. If I was to go into a relationship, I would commit myself 100 percent to it, and remain faithful, honest and grateful to have someone.

I don't smoke or drink alcohol, but have nothing against those who do. I've never tried either, but decided it's not for me. Although pubs aren't my usual stomping ground, when I am in them I tend to have a Lemon & Lime or Diet Coke. I don't eat chocolate either, although I used to love it. I'm on the wagon these days!

I look ... well, not bad perhaps, but I never look in mirrors, and haven't done regularly in a long time. I don’t have much self-esteem. There's photos above (I hate having my photo taken too!), but I'm 6-foot or there abouts, and slim, weighing in at approx 13 and a bit stone. As seen in the pics, I have a semi-developed goatee beard. I want a moustache to go with it, and asked my Dad how long it would take to grow one. "Oh, two or three weeks," he said. That was in 2007!

I love animals, especially dogs. I have a brown-and-white Welsh border collie named Ralph. At the moment, I live with my parents. (The recesion has a lot to answer for!)

Things I don't especially like (let's do this bit first and get it over with) ... I'm not what you'd call a clubber. Or at least a good one. If others like that, then fine, whatever floats your yacht, it's just that the dance music is VERY loud and doesn't move me in the same way that lyric-driven music does, and whereas some can dance with grace and style, I tend to flare wildly about as if I haven't mastered the star-jump yet. Or like Mr Bean getting electrocuted.

Things I DO like ... well, for starters, there's music. Most of all I like New Country - modern stuff that is, like Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood; also Jazz/Big Band, old time Rock 'n' Roll and Pop, favourite artists include Cliff Richard - stop laughing - The Beatles, Elton John, Shania Twain, Take That, Bryan Adams, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, The Beach Boys, Andy Williams, Adele, Phil Collins, The Hollies, Matt Monro, The Bee Gees, Glen Campbell, Olivia Newton-John, Frank Sinatra, The Carpenters, Brooks & Dunn, Neil Sedaka and more.

Some of my favourite songs are 'You’re Still the One' – Shania Twain; 'A Little In Love' – Cliff Richard; 'Don’t Blink' – Kenny Chesney; 'Here, There and Everywhere' – The Beatles; 'Uptown Girl' – Billy Joel; 'Jesus, Take the Wheel' – Carrie Underwood; 'Back for Good' - Take That; 'God Only Knows' - The Beach Boys; and 'Yesterday Once More' - The Carpenters.

Also, I love reading. It's the original virtual reality experience, but the graphics are in your head instead of on a screen. And at no point do you get to a page saying "Game Over - Go back to the beginning". Mostly, I read mystery, biography, comedy, thriller, adventure, romantic-comedy, history; favourite authors include P.G Wodehouse, Terry Pratchett, Jeff Abbott, Nick Hornby, Agatha Christie, Raymond Chandler, Robert Crais and Nicholas Sparks.

When it comes to TV, I like (deep breath) 24, CSI: Miami, Columbo, House MD, Frasier, Monk, The Mentalist, Poirot, Only Fools and Horses (my favourite comedy ever) The Saint, The Big Bang Theory, Fawlty Towers, Porridge, many classic British sitcoms - in fact, almost anything but reality shows and soaps, although I do like Britain's Got Talent for its variety and surprises. I like comedians too - Michael McIntyre is my favourite.

Film-wise, I love everything from action thrillers to romantic comedies (deep breath again) including, but not limited to, Die Hard, North by Northwest, The Notebook, 50 First Dates, James Bond, Laurel and Hardy, Rear Window, Music & Lyrics, The Fugitive, Iron Man, Miss Congeniality, The Odd Couple, Groundhog Day, Roxanne, While You Were Sleeping, Crocodile Dundee, Speed, Harvey, old British black and white comedies, Meet the Parents, Back to the Future and Spider-man trilogies, Toy Story, What Women Want and plenty else apart from horror.

Academically, one of the things I'm interested in is British royal and cultural history - the kings and queens we've had; how society has changed over the years etc. When it comes to sports, I prefer to do them rather than watch them, and enjoy swimming, ice-skating, skiing and power-walking (usually 3+ miles a day - with my dog Ralph beside me, although he tends to keep slipping off the treadmill - that's a joke, of course; we cover the circumference of my town most days).

You want to read more? No? Well, I'll write more, anyway. For those (very few) interested, I'm an aspiring (i.e deluded) writer and I've completed four manuscripts. I'm currently trawling through agents till I find one charitable enough to take me on (but I have had poetry published, if that accounts for anything). Recently, I worked in hospital radio, where I hosted a show and toured the wards doing my best to cheer people up (although it probably had the opposite effect!). I am currently volunteering in the Barnado's charity store. I've run out of space now, so I'll have to stop writing. Just as well really, after typing all this, I'm rather bored of myself now!
