My hobbies and interests

Cooking	Very much enjoy it; mainly chicken, Quorn, fish and vegetables with a weekly curry and occasional traditional roast.
Shopping	Don't mind it in smallish doses if there is a pub at hand.
DIY	I will tackle most tasks but have now learnt that some jobs are best left to professionals.
Housework	I do the minimum with occassional bursts of activity when things get too messy.
Dining out	I like to eat out; Chinese, Indian, Thai, Indonesian, Italian, French and pub food.
Movies	I haven't been to the movies for many years although I have no objection to going. I prefer a DVD at home and my favourites are adventure, Harry Potter, Manga, Shaun the Sheep.
Theatre	I am an occassional theatre-goer to see whatever is on at the time. The last was the 39 steps.
Music	Favourite music is classical and folk; especially Scottish, Irish and Northumbrian.
Gigs	The last stadium concert I went to was to see Bob Dylan in Paris and I was tear-gassed. I haven't been to anything similar since although this is not due to the bad experience but more that I prefer smaller venues.
Pubs	I enjoy a visit to a pub; during the typical week I have a few pints of real ale with friends on a Saturday night and will then drop into the local pub perhaps two nights a week for an hour.
Clubbing	I haven't been to a night club for quite a few years although if the company was right and the venue OK then who knows I might find myself in a club again.
Newspapers and magazines	The papers I read are the Times and Sunday Times and the Newcastle Journal and the Sunday Sun.
Books	I read a lot and always have at least one book on the bedside table. the subjects are very varied from adventure novels to philosophy and religion.
TV	I watch TV most evenings but not for more than an hour or so. I look out for documentries on history or archaeology (never miss the Time Team) and some current affairs. I also watch televised football matches if they interest me and sometimes cricket on a Sunday.
Watching sport	I used to watch Premier League football matches and still get occasionally to Newcastle.
Playing sport	I have regular keep-fit sessions
Hobbies	I have long had an interest in folk dancing and intend to take it up again, either Irish, Scottish or English.
