I am 62 years old, 6ft tall, average build fairly dark with hair going on grey and a fervent non smoker.

I have been happily divorced for many years, live near Reading in Berkshire and do not have any children.

I enjoy travel particularly touring, cycling rather than walking as I have arthritis in my hips, light theatre, cinema, television and food. I drink only moderately and retired early from a computing job.

I'm a reluctant gardener and do what is necessary and DIY when essential.

Although I retired early I have found a casual driving job which involves collecting and delivering cars from and to various parts of the country. It's only a few days (or even less in the current climate) a week but keeps me in touch with some of what is going on in the world.

I prefer a quiet country pub for a meal and a chat rather than lively places.

I have travelled to quite a few countries but there are lots still to do and many I'd like to return to many times.

Favourite countries that I have visited would include Southern Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

I read on holiday (crime, mystery, murder) or a light biography.

I don't watch soaps or anything to do with hospitals as I'm very squeamish.

I like some Radio 4 programs.

As I'm quite independent, practical and solvent I would like to share life with someone on an equal basis.

I would like to meet a lady who is in a similar position to myself i.e. she is solvent, owns her home, drives, enjoys travelling and holidays.

On top of that I would like her to have a pleasant personality, be easy going and good humoured with the desire to be equal and to share life equally with me.
