Hello...

What brings me here? Quite simply, I'm looking for that special connection, that heady rush of exhilaration when two souls meet. But failing that, good friends will do!

I'm fairly content on my own and enjoy my own company, but I do miss having someone special in my life to share experiences; the everyday ordinary things as well as those magical moments. I'd like to travel more, but it's no fun alone, and I'm keen to try new interests and activities. Two hearts and minds are better than one!

I'm a big girl with a personality to match, bubbly with a wicked sense of humour. I'm tactile and adore kisses and cuddles as much as stimulating conversation. I love a good debate and I'm more than capable of holding my own in a conversation... are you?

I enjoy listening to music and my taste is pretty eclectic, from classical to contemporary, but I'm not keen on C&W, opera and rap. I can't resist singing along to the radio and making up daft songs to sing to my dog... well at least he can't tell me to put a sock in it!

I'm spiritual but not particularly religious. However,I respect other people's beliefs and am open to discussion so long as they don't try to force their beliefs on me. Friends tell me I'm intelligent, but I'm self taught as opposed to formally educated at university. I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a curiosity that knows no bounds. I have a passion for words... but I'm hopeless with numbers!

Simple pleasures often bring the most reward; a walk in the woods, noting the changing of the seasons and discovering wild flowers. Some of my many interests include, photography, writing, bird watching, wildlife, and my beautiful Labrador. I also enjoy more cultural pursuits, especially the arts and local theatre, and have been known to tread the boards occasionally.

I prefer coffee shops and country pubs to clubs, the countryside to cities, and I detest shopping centres... odd for a woman I know! But I can spend hours browsing markets, art galleries and museums; the experience enhanced by the company of a like-minded soul, so we can discuss and share ideas. But it isn't imperative that we share the same interests as I'm always open to new experiences.

A few of my favourite things...

Food: Simple high quality ingredients; Traditional British, Indian and Mediterranean are particular favourites.
Favourite colours: Green and Yellow
Favourite pleasures: Stroking my dog's silky soft ears, birdsong, laughter, silence, rainbows, pink sky, first signs of buds on stark trees, green shoots pushing through hard winter earth, softness of turned wood, scent of the woods after rain, puppies, introspection, analysing, problem solving, early morning... that'll do for starters!

I have 3 grown up children who had all flown the nest, but one of my sons has recently returned to live with me after graduating from university. He assures me he will soon be on his way again as we both value our own space and he feels at 24 he's too old to be living with his mum!




 

As for who I'm looking for; I don't have a particular type, believing everyone has their own special qualities; but I do like a man who makes me laugh. Could you make me laugh till I cry? A man who can cook would be a bonus as I love cooking. How intimate to rustle something up together and enjoy it over a bottle of wine!

I'm not into one night stands, but neither am I looking to live together. Although I would expect a mutually exclusive relationship. I prefer to take things slowly and really get to know each other before taking things to a new level. It's impossible to sum up my personality in a few words. The only way to really get to know me is by meeting face to face. I believe that chemistry is everything; it's the crucial ingredient that differentiates between, 'just good friends' and 'lovers'.
