About me

I'm a country girl though I've lived all over the world and am culturally aware. I'm very busy with my two teenagers who are wonderful. I am somewhat different in that my way of life revolves around designing and renovating barns. I'm an ex-teacher of many years and being a good parent is vital to me, and in that field I have been a full time lone parent for over 10 years. I travel a great deal and a lot of that is to do with my work, which is really a hobby which took off. I can do many things pretty well including DIY and am interested in self-sufficiency, such as solar technology, and also I hate waste and litter, so recycle what I can. I'm active and like some sports, not football, and a dog would have to be very special indeed to win it's way into my affection, but I do have an adorable cat and keep hens and ducks. I enjoy live concerts which have good orchestras or bands and I get a lot out of classical music. I sing a lot, usually in a good choir. I enjoy walking, swimming, a bit of cycling, kayaking and yoga, though have done more exotic things in the past such as paragliding over the desert. I enjoyed camel riding last Christmas and forced myself to dive for a day, not my cup of tea really! I count myself very lucky in life and I think one of my qualities is sticking to a goal through thick and thin, having a vision and being able to work towards it through many problems. About you

Sometimes I just want peace and to listen to the countryside, to let my thoughts wander, to slow down the hurley-burley of life and to take stock. Guess I'm quite a patient person though I don't like bad manners! I love the seasons, though the sun being out at any time of year is a terrific bonus.Oh nearly forgot I'm a life member of English Heritage and a member of National Trust, and if there is anyone who can share a few likes and a lot of chemistry I'd love to meet him.
