Enjoying life is my main passion. Superficially I’m not brilliant, but I have a warm heart, bags of energy, integrity and a serious sense of humour. Into anything historic, arty or musical. Love playing in folk bands, going to ceilis, French & Irish set dancing, late night conversations, good coffee, log fires, socialising, philosophy, walking, moonlight, folk festivals, stone circles, strong cheese, good single malts, clouds, reading, teaching, driving, fresh bread, exploring wild and exciting places, dozing on the sofa, and life generally.
Can’t abide materialism, status, falsehood, cucumber, most television (Time Team excepted), football, the music they play in supermarkets (AAAAARRRRRGGHHH !!), bad driving, ironing, cheap red wine, noisy pubs and selfishness.
Having said that, someone wise once said, ‘Give your energies to what you are for, not what you are against.’ So, I would love to build or live in a carbon neutral eco-house, do the organic growy thing, finish my PhD on environmental philosophy, and to be a real asset to our poor planet. Not doing badly, as a recycled veggie with a low pollution car, growing cress seeds on the window sill.
I can offer a whole host of good things, like loyalty, support, etc., but not much in the way of conventionality or material stuff. Got my own very modest house, sensible car, charity shop toaster and eco-light bulbs, but they are tools for living, not life directing possessions.
Very much someone who can mix a scientific intellect with a spiritual and alternative outlook. Lots of stuff out there that works if you believe in it, bit like on line dating. Always curious and exploring possibilities. Love the sort of conversations that start ‘What if . . . .’, and then go half way round the universe before pausing for breakfast.
 

Looking for a very unusual lady, if she exists! Do you like music, dancing, festivals and an occasional bit of hard work helping at music or social events??? If you are a musician or singer, then wow!
I spend a lot of time facilitating ceilis and social events, running workshops at festivals, walking, playing in a folk band and going dancing. Would you enjoy sharing these activities, as well as enjoying some of your own past times. As I'm the one who usually ends up clearing up afterwards at events, so you will need a bit of energy and willingness to help.
Are you also prone to zoom off to watch a storm, or a moon rise, or to walk along a beach, or visit a remote stone circle, even at strange times? With me around, you will need a sense of adventure, and a flask, even at 3 am!
Got a gentle side, able to support, enjoy quiet moments and share life's ups and downs. More than happy if you are 'average' looking, low income or unconventional, the person within is important, or if you lack confidence for whatever reason, as I have enough to share. The only thing I ask is that you are reasonably fit and not over weight, or serious about getting that way, easy to get on with and happy to be around.
