Ben Ford    (67) from Cumbria

I'm tall, medium built, greeny blue eyes, bearded, fair skin, well travelled, broad minded, and sociable. Also articulate, intelligent, and cultured in a lightly seasoned sort of way. I like music, Radio 4 and Classic FM, TV, theatre, reading and writing, cooking, wine, travel and conversation. Enjoy caravanning, the odd game of Pool, fishing, boating, walking, visiting vineyards and visiting cities but prefer to live in the countryside. I prefer small groups and one to one conversation over a glass of wine, rather than big crowds. Now semi-retired.

I don't like football, nor sport generally, (except for tennis); junk food, silly drinks, bad language(except when it's appropriate and funny!)

I'm a "floating voter" with 'middle of the road' views on politics (and life in general) and enjoy watching the dynamic duo, late on Thursday evening TV.

In 1979 I gave up smoking cigarettes. After many years as a non-smoker, late one night in a bar in Lisbon, over a cognac, I succumbed to an offered cigar. Now,I smoke a pipe and cigars occasionally, but intend to give up soon! Watch this space.

 

I would like to meet someone young at heart, intelligent, educated, with attractive eyes, and a ready smile, who enjoys life. Someone who is a partial to a glass of wine. You tell me the wine you like and I'll tell you why you might like it.
