UPDATE January 2012: I have just re-joined MSE having spent most of the last two years traveling around Turkey, hanging out with friends, learning the language, picking grapes and sufi whirling! I'm a paid up member, and I will reply to all messages. I'll update my profile shortly :-)

I am a happy, optimistic, 50 something, pretty much sorted and happy with my life. Sure I'd love to have someone to share special times with, but I'm sure he'll arrive in his own time :-)

By profession I'm a solicitor, but the long hours burned me out and I decided I wanted a life. I now do a little part-time consultancy work from home (or wherever I happen to hang my hat) So I am 'eccentrically poor' but enjoying the feeling of being a free spirit!

When I am in the UK 'home' is a cottage in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands. I am loving having wide open green spaces on my doorstep. I have turned my back garden into a wildlife area, with a pond, and a wildflower meadow, which attract all sorts of birds, insects and water beasties.

Raised a Catholic, over the years I have rejected organised religion in favour of a more nature/earth based spiritual way of being. My spirituality is important to me - I believe in a 'higher power' whether you choose to call this 'God', 'The Divine', or whatever. You don't need to share my views, or even be on the same path as me, but it would help if you are at least heading in the same direction :-) I follow the wheel of the year, try to live with the seasons and to respect our planet. I believe in living mindfully and in the moment; and taking time to appreciate the pleasures that life brings when we take time to stop, breath, and look around us.

I am open-hearted, exuberant, and love life.

What would I like to get out of Midsummer's Eve? I am hoping to meet people and expand my social circle. Really, to start with, I just want to get away from this computer screen, make friends (women and men), share fun and laughter, and enjoy life!

In the longer term, I'd like to think I have a twin-flame/soul-mate out there somewhere, in this lifetime, who will choose to grow spiritually with me. I am very loyal and strictly monogamous, so if you are married or in a relationship, or even if you do not value fidelity, please give me a miss - this isn't a moral judgement on other people's lifestyles, but it is the path I choose for myself (apologies, that sounds really 'heavy' but I might as well be honest)
