I'm a fun loving guy who would like to meet others who enjoy adventure and travel. I enjoy making music at home and enjoy going to live gigs too. I'm a keen guitar player and love most kinds of guitar music as well as anything with a good groove. My tastes are varied from Jimi Hendrix through to Bob Marley and Miles Davis, Carlos Santana, so like Jazz, Reggae, Funk, and Lounge/Chillout. I'm a keen cook and enjoy cooking Greek food and curries. I enjoy entertaining at home as well as going out.

Looking to make new friends and maybe meet that special someone. I've made it this far and had success on a material level, now I'm hoping to finally find the true friend that I'm sure is out there somewhere, so we can enjoy together all those great things that life has to offer.

My hobbies and interests

Cooking	Love cooking, traditional Greek food - favourite dish Lemon Chicken and Moussaka, Indian and Sri Lankan - lamb and aubergine curries with tempered vegetable and garlicky side dishes
Shopping	Shopping can be fun, but I'm no shopaholic and I'm the kind who enjoys getting my new purchase home to try it out
DIY	I'm handy around the house and can wield most DIY tools but it's stricktly business when it comes to DIY as I'm no addict!
Housework	I like to have a tidy house but I'm no obsessive when it comes to tidiness, housework is viewed as a necessary chore but never relished!
Dining out	I enjoy a good night out with a few friends in the local Indian or perhaps a meal after a good concert. But love to entertain at home or visit friends for a night of good food and banter
Movies	Not a great movie goer as they seem to have forgotten how to make a film with a story that grips your imagination. I grew up on James Bond and Ealing comedies and they're a hard act to beat
Theatre	Not really a conventional theatre goer and the Bard is out of my zone but I've seen a few surprising performances which have often been in a more modern vein
Music	I'm a music nut. Love Rock, Jazz, Reggae, Chillout and World Music. Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, Carlos Santana, Claude Challe, Jeff Beck, Bob Marley, Eagles. Just about anything cool or groovy gets my vote.
Gigs	Love live music whether it's an unknown World Music act, a classic rock legend, a rootsy reggae band, a virtuoso flamenco guitarist or even a good tribute band!
Pubs	I'm not normally the first one to suggest going to the pub but I'll always enjoy an evening with some good friends and a pint or two of decent real ale if persuaded to leave the pleasures of a nice bottle of Cabernet at home behind in favour of a night of banter in a decent pub
Clubbing	I have been occasionally known to go to clubs with my younger friends and although I'm not a serious dance fiend, I do enjoy the frisson of a busy club once in a while although I'm no raver!
Newspapers and magazines	Don't really read magazines, apart from travel journals and brochures. I don't bother with newspapers except to keep up with the mood of the general populace so I can chat without appearing uninformed
Books	I love a good adventure paperback on holiday to dip into while catching some sun on the beach or by the pool. However some of my classic faves are stuff by Douglas Adams and Hunter S Thompson and I keep meaning to get started on Terry Pratchett
TV	I enjoy relaxing in front of the box when there's nothing better to do, it's a great way to put your mind in neutral after a hard days work. I do enjoy the 70s classics that get shown on the digital channels, whether it's a cop show or a sitcom - they don't make 'em like they used to! You won't catch me watching Big Brother!
Watching sport	Nope, there must be a million things better than watching foobtall and have never stayed awake long enough to see the point of darts or snooker
Playing sport	I love non team sports like swimming, snorkelling, sailing, I like excitement but probably don't have the inclination (or possibly luck) for bungee or parachute jumping!
Hobbies	Apart from my passion for exotic travel and photography. I have a little recording studio where I indulge myself recording with my friends. I love to create my own compositions and have had a few compliments from friends and strangers so I keep chipping away. I'm trying to find time to join a band and go out playing pubs again.

My hopes and dreams

In ten years I see myself	I dream of retiring to a Greek island with a veranda overlooking the sea. Sitting watching the sun go down with my partner, while strumming her a soft serenade and sipping an Ouzo.
Who would I invite to a dinner party?	Jimi Hendrix, because he can show me how to Flambé a guitar. Tommy Emmanuel because he's such a funny guy and knows more guitar techniques than I will ever have time to learn. Julie Waters, as she is intelligent good looking and so subtly funny and talented, who wouldn't like her.
My ideal date	My ideal date would be walk through a tropical forest enjoying the sounds of night approaching followed by dinner for two on a tropical beach. Curried prawns and rice followed by fresh tropical fruits all washed down with a gorgeous Cabernet. Bob Marley singing his songs accompanied only by himself on guitar. And finally falling asleep under the stars with the sound of the sea as a lullaby.
What would I never, ever give up?	Music, because in the words of Bob Marley "When it hits you feel no pain". I will never forget the first time I heard Miles Davis play In A Silent Way, I still remember the shivers down my spine.
If I had to give a speech on a subject I was passionate about ...	I would give a speech on how travel opens the mind and enriches the soul by discovering different cultures and how it can break down falsely perceived barriers built by others.
If I could visit anywhere in the world at any time in history	I would love to have lived in Sri Lanka in the days of the spice trades when everything was still new and undiscovered
If I had a million pounds to give to charity	Something that enriched the lives of people by the use of music whether it be therapy for medical patients or kids without a direction, I think music is the message.
