About me

Hello, I'm Amy I'm 41 and I'm a business woman, self-employed and always on the phone. I have my own home, car, hair, teeth and fingernails. When life's not getting in the way, I like to walk for miles and I'm getting back into mountain climbing but mountains are rarer than hen's teeth in Yorkshire. York is a great place for me at the moment, especially, Betty's Tea Rooms (if I'm allowed to say that). London is great too and I'm happy to drive there (or anywhere) for a weekend.

Currently, I enjoy cooking (everyday), eating, singing, friends, family, wine, walking, reading, Midsummer's Eve, making lots of new friends and learning about the world. To keep fit I do a couple of pilates classes each week, which I can't get enough of and I've just started salsa fit although I'm completely useless at it so far. My friends describe me as beautiful, intelligent, honest, helpful, Pre-Raphaelite, Bohemian, caring, too kind, stubborn and too good to be alone. Most of which I agree with! I'm not a huge talker but that doesn't mean I'm shy. Talking for the sake of it is just a waste of listening.

There's nothing I'd like more than to have a loving, caring, stable, patient, clever partner to share thoughts, ideas and aspirations with. Can you imagine coming home from work, putting on an apron (not obligatory), pouring a couple of glasses of wine, preparing a meal and discussing the highs and (hopefully not too many) lows of the day? And after another delicious home-cooked meal listening to some music and conversing for the rest of the evening? Planning for an event or working towards a goal together is so fulfilling and rewarding. Just being together with the right person sharing quality time is these things too.

On holiday in India recently, I saw a poster which read, "Love is life's only true adventure." It's true. Finding love is so exciting and an adventure with the ultimate conclusion.

About you

In you, I am looking for someone who enjoys or appreciates some of the things I do. You will be under 45 and will be like me in as much as you are educated, you understand the pressures of business and you're uncomplicated in that you enjoy a quiet life and don't want to spend any time arguing about what's passed and can't be rectified. You will also be open-minded enough not to judge people because of their race, abilities, tastes, views or politics etc and be able to accept that although we may not find everything others do agreeable, we should still respect them and try to get along with them. You'll also be confident, secure in yourself and not get carried away with negative emotions and be able to concentrate on the positives. You'll also have the courage of your convictions. You might have children which is great and you might not, either's fine. You'll want to show me the things that you enjoy and you'll be happy discussing thoughts and opinions. I think life is about learning and this is what we need to do to grow and move forward. You'll want to learn too and be happy to teach me.
