Some 'bits 'n' bobs' about me.

I like variety and hate a set routine. I love learning and enjoy travel prefering to visit places with a bit of mystery and history rather than just sea and sand.

I regularly enjoy walks around the Peak District with friends, which often involves seeking out a country pub or tea room to revive us afterwards.

I've also ventured up to the lovely Lake District and beautiful bonnie Scotland, down into wonderful Wales and across the border into white rose county and the Yorkshire dales.

I'm a red rose Lancashire lass by birth although have lived in Cheshire for the past 30 odd years.

Some favourite memories - a 5 day journey across the Lake District supporting an MSE member on her Coast to Coast walk in 2010; solo road trips up the west coast of Scotland staying on the magical Isles of Mull and Iona and up the east coast visiting Robin Hoods Bay and Lindisfarne; living in Vancouver(Canada)for a couple of years back in the early 80's.

Spending time with my family and socialising with friends is very important to me but sometimes I 'want to be alone' to relax and recharge.

I'm 'socially' sporty, badminton, tennis, ten pin, hire a bike, swim if I must and you don't splash! Recently survived canoeing on the river Wye in the Brecon Beacons and punting in Cambridge.

I also have glad rags and can be ladylike should the need arise to mingle in with 'posh' folk in a five star hotel. If you put Bon Jovi on I play a mean 'air guitar'.

I'm very 'practical', and enjoy gardening, 'decorative' DIY and can, when necessary, make effective use of my power tools!

I'm looking to meet honest, open minded, positive people who enjoy life's rollercoaster.

I've been here a while but am still enjoying the chatter, discussions, laughs and tantrums around the 'site'.

The meetups are the 'real life' part of this virtual world and through them I've met lots of great people a made a few very special friends all around the UK.
