Johnny R    (44) from the West Midlands

I'm probably not the world's most conventional person, though I may look it. I'm very creative and a bit of a bohemian, while also being practical and reasonably down-to-earth.

I work as an 'information officer' for a social housing company (involves a lot of writing!). I was brought up in a very rural area, but now I live in Birmingham.

I don't live to work... work is just a means to an end for me. I'm trying to live a simpler lifestyle: that's my goal.

I've been single for quite a while now, but as I value my space I think that's fine. Time to move on though.

In my spare time I like to play my guitars (I have 3 of them now, but I play them one at a time :-) ). I learned to play an acoustic in my teens, and I recently took up the electric guitar: it's a very different instrument, but I love to play. It's therapy!

I enjoy intelligent conversation or light banter. Either is good enough, but in the long term I like people who have a bit of depth, without them always being too intense.

I value friendship, loyalty and intimacy, but I know these things take time and I'm not usually in a hurry myself. I write for a hobby, including essays and poetry. I'm currently working on a book with some online friends, and who knows... it might even get into print one day.

PS - the photos were taken at work. I don't have many photos of myself, and yes... they are recent in case you're wondering. I'm ageing slowly at the moment. :-) 

I'm here to meet people for dates. The circles I move in range from busy professionals (who seem to already have partners, or no time to breathe) to a neighbourhood where I have little or nothing in common with the people around me.
