About me

That's not my real hair in the photo! Mine is blonde, much shorter and somewhat more sparse.

I'm a genuine, nice, caring, level headed sort of person. If you're looking for "excitement, adventure and really wild things" (to quote Douglas Adams), then I may not be what you're after (although I do have my moments!) in which case, thanks for visiting and good luck in your search. If you're still reading however then:

I'm courteous, kind, loving and appreciative, and those are the qualities that I like in others. I don't lie, I don't cheat, I'm not two-faced and I don't like people who are. I can initially come across as quite shy and not the world's best conversationalist, but I do come out of my shell once I get to know someone. I have a dry, witty, slightly sarcastic sense of humour.

I enjoy pub quizzes, quiet nights out (not really into the nightclub scene) and quiet nights in (bottle of wine and a good film). I also spend my time taking my dog out for walks, reading and playing backgammon (but not all at the same time!) I am a fan of Lost, Heroes and Doctor Who (geek!), and enjoy watching tv, but not Big Brother or similar. I also enjoy playing pool and kite flying, ooh, and juggling.

I enjoy travelling when I can. My preferred holiday would be a UK city break (no sitting on the beach for me), visiting galleries, museums etc. In the past I've visited Canada, America, Paris, Venice and Florence.

I'm quite passionate about photography and even though I don't like to boast, I am pretty damn good at it. I've even sold some of my photos so it can't just be me who likes them.

I speak a little French and Italian - enough to order a drink or meal and to say please and thank you.

I'm not religious and whilst I respect the beliefs of those who are, I have no interest in religion myself.
