I have many interests and often have my head in a book. I love learning about new ideas and skills and am usually signed up for at least one evening class each year.

I enjoy the cinema and my favourite films include It's a Wonderful Life, Pretty Woman, Ghost, Desert Hearts, Dirty Dancing. My taste in music is wide ranging including Tchaikovsky, Snow Patrol, Allison Moorer & Meatloaf.

My love of travel was put on hold whilst I was raising my son but now he is older I am hoping to see more of the world. My last trip was with him in 2005 when we spent a month touring Australia and had a fantastic time.

I prefer red wine to white wine, tea to coffee, "Have I Got News for You" to "Little Britain", the coast to the town, warm weather to very hot weather, country music to rap. I believe in trying most things at least once.

I hate ageism and don't accept that age should place any limitation on what we can and cannot do. 

Friendship initially. I like people with a sense of humour and who have integrity.

To me who you are is more important than what you do for a living (although sometimes your employment can say much about you), how much money you earn, or your education.

I also think it's important that people care about themselves and do not have self destructive habits like smoking or similar. I look after my health and fitness and would prefer people that do the same.

It would be lovely to think that I could meet someone that I could fall in love with but when it comes to relationships, I am more a tortoise than a hare, so if you are a speed freak I am probably not the one for you.
