123Misty (48) from Middlesex
I'm not a full member on here, so as much as I love someone saying I'm gorgeous and saying I'm a favourite, I don't know who you are!
Also, if you sent me a kiss, thanks you. but I won;t know who it's from unless you send me a message.
Please just send me a message!!
So - About me. I think I'm pretty well turned out , I'm 5ft 8 and a half (to be exact) , have a dryish sense of humour, and am very loyal to my friends. Unfortunately these good friends have no idea why I am still single (I say it is a mixture of bad luck over the years, but also good luck in a couple of cases!) and have sadly run out of single men.
My hobbies - films, plays, watching most sport, especially Rugby Union (I am secretary of my local club), I would love to go skiing, dodgy knee notwithstanding, and enjoy short weekends away (Edinburgh next week, New York the week after - it helps to work for an airline :-)
My most recent music purchases - I like loads of music, but can't be accused of being cutting edge, as the last CD I bought was Pietro Mascagni; Cavalliera Rusticana, and my favourite TV programme of recent years was Life on Mars.
I don't have any children, get on fine with my family's and friends' kids. It just never happened for me, so I spoil my niece and nephews, who are all as mad as badgers.
In case you're interested, all my friends love me - but don't they always?
What am I looking for? Someone who is honest, funny, wants to be involved in my life and my friends and is happy to say if its not working. If you like to play your cards close to your chest or you think the definition of honesty is just not getting caught, please pass me by. I find it easy to relax, but I'm looking for someone to plan holidays or weekends with. Above all I'm looking for a best friend, someone who would be first on my list when I know a really juicy bit of gossip (isn't that what a best friend is for?) and we'll see what comes after that.
I'm looking for someone to show me the Lake Disctrict (I've never been) and someone who wants to watch back to back episodes of Life on Mars.
Someone who likes sports, and if that sport is Rugby Union, all the better.
I'd love to meet someone who is funny, but above all, honest, and someone who really likes ME!
About me
I'm 48 years old and come from Middlesex in the United Kingdom. I'm single with no kids. I'm 5' 9" tall and of average build. I don't smoke and I drink occasionally. I'm here for dating.
My detailed facts
My hobbies and interests
Cooking
Time spent in the kitchen is not my finest hour. I can do a mean lasagne, spag bol etc etc, great salads and barbeques, I do the basics well, and leave the fancy stuff for those who are better equipped.
Shopping
I don't mind shopping, but I can go to the US and not go near the shops. It's not something I HAVE to do when I'm away, but am happy to go shopping whenever the mood or need takes me.
DIY
Painting and ripping weeds out. That's about it. I know my limitations.
Housework
I don't live in a dump, I don't live in a show house. But I always tidy up before visitors come round.
A friend recently told me she loved staying as my home is comfortable, tidy, but feels lived in.
I'm taking that as a compliment.
Dining out
I love dining out, but am not swayed by top of the range 'named' restaurants. Style over substance, and in the current climate, with some friends and family currently job hunting, it's not appropriate.
However, I haven't been in Mcdonalds for years - I cannot stand the smell. Give me a chip shop any day.
Movies
I like watching films, but cannot stand the popcorn, sweet rustling sound that now accompanies all cinema visits. So unfortunately, I watch most films now on a plane, which isn't often.
Theatre
I have seen one musical recently (Blood Brothers - think I'm going off musicals now though) and I also saw Comedy of Errors at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre - fantastic evening.
Music
Music tastes - very mixed.
I have just been to Rewind 2010 at Henley - 80s music festival - brilliant weekend. I also love to listen to some opera when working.
A recent discovery is Stornaway, indie folk band.
I like what I like, and wouldn't stay I dislike any one particular style except trad jazz - not niiiiice.
Gigs
Rewind 2010, and am seeing Squeeze later on this year, but will try anything once to see if I like them.
I also like comedy gigs (Ealing Comedy festival)
Pubs
I don't mind pubs, it all depends on the company and how long it takes to get served, and will I get a seat. I don't like standing in a pub.
Clubbing
My clubbing days are firmly behind me. Not that I think I'm too old, but I no longer enjoy it.
Newspapers and magazines
I rarely buy newspapers or magazines. I tend to get my news from various websites.
Books
I read a lot, and am in a book club, so the choice is not my own. Makes it more interesting. I have recently read Wolf Hall, and am still wondering what the fuss was about.
TV
I watch tell,y but weaned myself off soaps when I worked abroad.
My all time favourites are Life of Mars, and Pride and Prejudice. A bit of a mix.
I just came back from holiday, and hadn't preset the PVR to record anything and wasn't bothered, and so I just tend to watch whats on.
Watching sport
I love to watch most sport; Rugby, Olympics, Football, anything but boxing and horse racing (although I like going to the races)
Playing sport
I don't play much sport, (mainly due to old sporting injuries) but I do swim and go to the gym occasionally. I'm not going to lie, I find it a struggle, and I should be there now, but motivation is lacking.
Hobbies
Cake decorating, secretary of a rugby club, pub quizzes, visiting friends wherever they are (just back from California, and weekend after next am off to France).
My next big aim is to be a volunteer at the London 2012 Olympics.
