Trusted members
What is a trusted member?
When a member buys our Essentials
service, they give their name, address and credit card details
to our card processor, who cross reference these with the
details known by their credit card issuer.
Passing these checks raises our confidence that the member
is genuine, and is serious about their membership. It also shows they have no objection to our details
appearing on their credit card statements and that their
credit card is in good order.
Please note these very important points about our
"trusted member" label:
- just because a member does not have the "trusted member" label, does not mean that they are not trustworthy.
It simply means that we have not been given the opportunity to collect their real name and address details.
- the "trusted member" label should never be taken as proof of identity or integrity. Our normal
advice applies to all trusted members.
- we will never, ever give away the name and address details of any member to any other member, so please do not ask.
- Our privacy policy applies.
How do I become a trusted member?
To become a "trusted member" you must purchase
our Essentials service using your
credit card. This enables our card processor to collect
your name and address details and cross-reference them with
your credit card issuer. This is all done online at the
time of purchase. There is nothing further for you to do.
Your name and address, are strictly confidential and we
cannot pass them to anybody else, such as another member.
Our privacy policy applies.
