If more of the country was in favour of a no deal Brexit the party would have been much more successful.

One of the most insightful pieces of analysis I've ever read.

Lets see who laughs last.

There is a power shift right through Europe. If you actually followed politics.

Sadly I don’t think many will be laughing for decades to come. Whether we wanted to leave or remain in the EU the one major thing which will affect us all equally are the rifts tearing the country apart and also creating animosity within families, in the workplace and between friends.

Gilpin  Female  Middlesex 30-May-2019 13:25 Message #4740973
It had to come.

I don't think it's quite as dramatic as rifts tearing the country apart, except in Westminster, and the excited media.

I would say it's more a battle of democracy between the ruling elite and the increasing dissatisfaction of their indifference or even awareness of disparity of wealth. Decisions made with little regard to ordinary people and countries, but an ambitious empire building of Europe, forced on centuries old nation states, whether they like it or not. Human nature is bound to rise up against that sort of exploitation. A properly run trading bloc is one thing, but what the EU have in mind is very questionable.

NotHermitPerson thingy.
Its all about democracy and respect for other peoples opinions.
A democratic vote took place, if it is ignored you have political casualties.
The latest casualty would be Jeremy Hunt, still trying to keep no deal at bay.
………..

Well said. It's sooo simple.

Jeremy Hunt. Would for me be at the bottom of the pile somewhere. He looks as if he could be easily led, more that May. As if he's still at school not sure whether to address that prefect or not, who is his superior. They'll stamp right on him, while he stutters and tries to find the words.

Support your country for heavens sake. We, us, have put you lot in charge, not the EU. Oh didums, but I can't make my fickle mind up, I shouldn't be in politics really because I don't know. If Tories go back on removing no deal, I think they will be finished. imo

I saw Mat Hancock the health secretary being interviewed on Newsnight last night and he made Jeremy Hunt look statesman like, Hancock was spluttering and stuttering, repeating himself and umming and ahhing under even mild questioning, he did not look like leadership material at all.

It doesn't matter what face or hair and fake persona you appear to like. The ideology of cruelty and greed, runs right through them all. This leadership soap opera you have fallen for, is just a sideshow/distraction. No wonder these leeches get away with this wrong, when the fickle geriatrics, sat behind their pensions and mundane normaility, fall into the personality game show. It's very sad to see, but the youth will reject it. Especially when this old selfish lot have gone.

oooh …. this old selfish lot have put in 40 odd years paying their taxes and into the NHS. The youth have yet to show their stamina.

I will agree with greed in some circumstances. But I would point it at the global empires, multinational banks and corporations that work to having permanent influence over governments.

Agreed Andromeda, it seems two members (or is it one member with a split personality?) seem intent on ruining any discussion with course attacks on the person rather than discussing comments. So sad :-(

It's just mind games Andromeda and Nigel. As your probably aware, or not by your biased intervention. There's a few Brexit Nazis- Right wing, little Britain types on this forum, and when you hit them with morality and questions that reveal their vacancy. They resort to snidey mind games and attack the person because they can't argue against their incipid ideology. But Andromeda and Nigel, I suspect you don't see it; and fall right into the trap. I imagine in the past, they have ridiculed, character assasinated and driven many people from this forum. I just hope you didn't take part in the virtual bullying yourselves.

Of course that is what he is saying. He has no interest in anyone else’s opinions as he just likes listening to his own voice.

Witheflow,

I agree with most of what you have written about the ridicule (or attempt to at least), character assassination (slightly overstated, I say more mocking at those which different ideology), driven people from this forum (yes well I know a few). One feels emotionally beaten at times, often by people I have previously respected.

However, I just don't agree with stopping to comments about potential appearance which is rather personal and stoops to the level of those behaving in such a way to start with.

Some have shot themselves in the foot and persist with accusations of impersonations and shows just how certain people jump before really knowing any real evidence. I recall you from quite a long time ago independent to Goodtobewith.

I don't need a picture either, I'm not trying to advertise or hide anything. I have put one on occasionally but generally, like not having one. If anything, it's worked in my favour, and in the past when there used to be many meets, it was great fun people not knowing who I was. It was important to me to meet people where my looks or appearance was secondary to what people wanted in a new friend. I wasn't looking for a relationship but ended up happily in one anyway.

Profile pictures don't really tell you much.
